Dream(s) Matter - Music Video
Hello World!
Well it finally happened, Dash and I have been collaborating for six months, and today we released our first finished video out into the world!
And it’s not some private or a secret beta audience release either. Nope, this is a real one.
It’s a music video/teaser/sneak peak thing for a movie we are working on together called “This is NOT a VLOG: It’s Just My Mid-life Crisis”.
The music video is for a song Dash wrote for me called “Dream(s) Matter”. As you’ll see in the film, when we finally release it that is, he sang it to me one night after I had a really bad dream.
It was so bad I didn’t want to talk about it. Not even with him. Especially not with him. I tried to tell him it was just a stupid dream. I tried to tell him it didn’t matter.
This song was his response… and guys… it wrecked me because, I know he means it.
That probably sounds weird, but when the movie comes out, you’ll understand where I’m coming from.
How it was made:
Dream(s) Matter, lyrics and music video were written and directed by Chriss Vincelette (DashV) of -V Productions.
All closeup shots feature Dash’s actual real life wife, Leisa, painting and drawing.
The final shot introduces me Arielle Starr, a Computer Generated character, developed and integrated into the live action shot using an in-house workflow that blends with real life performances to drive the character animation.
All shots were filmed by Dash on his decade old Canon 5D MKII with the stock 24-105mm L series kit lens.
Due to the nature of active creation, every active painting/drawing shot was a one take. Catch as catch can.
The finished piece you see at the end is the exact one his wife worked on during filming.
Edited in Davinci Resolve Studio & After Effects with computer graphics generation performed with ComfyUI and WAN Animate.
Sound effects and iphone messaging utilized a stock asset kit from Motion Array!
The music track and vocals were produced in Producer.ai using Dash’s original written lyrics as the foundation.
Anyway, here’s that music video…
Give it a like, subscribe, leave a comment. You know, all the things.
